Step 1: Cream Butter & Sugar
- Beat together:
- softened butter
- granulated sugar
- Mix for 2–3 minutes until light, pale, and fluffy.
Add:
- egg
- egg yolk
- vanilla
- almond extract
- Beat again until creamy.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl whisk:
- flour
- baking powder
- baking soda
- salt
- Add dry mix to wet mixture and blend on low until dough forms.
Step 3: Add Halloween Sprinkles
Fold in:
- Halloween sprinkles
- Use jimmies, not tiny nonpareils—they bleed color.
- Optional: Fold in chocolate chips for extra “treat.”
Step 4: Scoop & Bake
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line baking sheets with parchment.
- Scoop dough into 2-tablespoon balls.
- Place 2 inches apart.
- Bake 10–12 minutes, until:
- edges are set
- centers still soft
- tops pale and slightly puffy
- Do NOT overbake—this keeps them soft and thick.
- Let cookies cool on baking sheet 10 minutes before moving.
