Step 1: Cream Butter & Sugars
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar for 3 minutes until fluffy and pale.
Step 2: Add Eggs & Vanilla
- Mix in the eggs one at a time, then the vanilla extract.
- Beat until smooth and glossy.
Step 3: Combine Dry Ingredients
- In another bowl, whisk together:
- flour
- baking soda
- baking powder
- salt
- Add dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix just until combined.
- Do not overmix.
Step 4: Fold in Chocolate
- Fold in chocolate chips + chocolate chunks.
- (Disney’s secret: use lots of chocolate with different sizes!)
- Chill dough 30–60 minutes for maximum thickness.
Step 5: Scoop & Bake
- Scoop large dough balls — about 3 to 4 tablespoons each.
- Place on the baking sheets with plenty of spacing.
- Bake 11–14 minutes until:
- edges are golden
- centers look slightly underbaked
- This creates that signature Disney gooey center.
- Let cool on the tray at least 10 minutes to finish setting.
