Step 1: Prep the Dough Balls
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Divide the pizza dough into 12–15 equal portions.
- Flatten each piece slightly.
- Place a mozzarella cube (or ball) in the center.
- Pinch dough firmly around the cheese to create sealed balls.
Step 2: Shape Into a Christmas Tree
- Arrange dough balls on the baking sheet in a Christmas tree shape:
- 1 ball at the top
- 2 balls beneath
- 3 beneath that
- 4 beneath that
- 1–2 balls as the “trunk”
- Make sure they’re touching so they bake together and pull apart easily.
- (Alternatively, shape as a wreath by arranging a ring of dough balls.)
Step 3: Make the Garlic Herb Butter
- In a small bowl, mix:
- melted butter
- garlic
- parsley
- Italian seasoning
- salt
- pepper
- Brush generously over the dough balls.
Step 4: Bake
- Bake 18–22 minutes until:
- golden brown
- cheese-filled centers are melty
- tops lightly crisp
- Remove from oven and brush with more herb butter if desired.
Step 5: Serve Warm
- Sprinkle with:
- grated parmesan
- fresh parsley or rosemary
- red pepper flakes (optional)
- Serve with warm marinara, pesto, or garlic butter for dipping.
